About the work
I am a Hobart-based printmaker working primarily with linocut, creating hand-carved prints inspired by landscape, nature, and form.
My practice is grounded in craftsmanship and an appreciation for beauty found in simple, considered marks. Each piece begins as a single lino block, carved slowly by hand. The block is then inked and printed one at a time, allowing the process, pressure, and material to shape the final image.
I’m drawn to bold forms, flowing lines, and strong contrast, often influenced by the Tasmanian landscape and its changing light, weather, and textures. Rather than aiming for exact representation, my work explores feeling and movement through carved marks.
The handmade nature of linocut means no two prints are exactly the same. Variations, texture, and imperfections are an important part of the work and reflect the honesty of the process.
